War Food Posters

The National Agriculture Library is currently running a display of food and gardening posters from World Wars I and II. There’s an online version which is a lot of fun to browse through– go on over and take a look.  It’s amazing how much of the propaganda from then is such a big part of the food movement now: grow your own, don’t waste,  learn to can, and the push to incorporate gardens into schools. Of course, I don’t think anyone sits down to eat potatoes today in order to “make the Kaiser mad”!
